Food is a fundamental part of our daily lives, and different cultures around the world have their own unique culinary traditions.

While many dishes are considered delicious and mouthwatering, there are some that can be classified as downright gross or stomach-churning for the average person.

In this article, we will explore five of these disgust-inducing foods that you may want to approach with caution.

1. Balut (Philippines)

First on our list is balut, a popular street food in the Philippines that can be quite challenging for those with weak stomachs.

Balut is a fertilized duck embryo that is boiled and eaten directly from the shell.

The partially developed bones, feathers, and beak of the duckling can be seen when the shell is cracked open.

While some people find the taste to be rich and flavorful, the sight of a nearly-formed bird can be too much for many to handle.

2. Hákarl (Iceland)

Hákarl is a traditional Icelandic dish that consists of fermented shark meat.
